Mike and Shawn have been trapping for many years. Shawn has been an active trapper for much of his life and has relied on trapping as a part of his annual income. Mike, on the other hand, has trapped more as a rancher and focused on winter predators to help protect his cattle herd. The area they trap today has a history dating back to the very early 1800s, this country was the backbone of the fur industry in BC. Together they are an incredible source of knowledge and entertainment. As a true conservationist, Clients will learn about the animals, their habitat, and proper management. Trapping has changed over the years, but the methods of reading sign, constructing sets, and fur preparation have remained the same and need to be experienced to be completely understood. Our hands-on approach will ensure clients get a true northern trapping experience.

Spend some time with these two and live the life of a mountain man. Learn to trap Wolf, Wolverine, Lynx, Coyote, Fox, Fisher, Marten, Weasel, Squirrel, Beaver, Otter, Mink, and Muskrat. As trappers that believe in balance, we do not simply “high grade” and trap only the most valuable and easy fur, we get out there and put effort towards all fur bearers. As part of your trip with us, clients can count on one of each species caught, except for a wolf or wolverine which can be purchased at market value. All hides will be prepared for taxidermy.

Shawn, being a professional taxidermist, can either mount your trophies or ship your hides.
